Thoroughly impressed with the Opening Ceremony of The London 2012 Olympic Games.
After Beijing’s opening ceremony 4 years ago I didn’t exactly set the bar high for what London could achieve, but Danny Boyle did a great job.
I loved that it didn’t necessarily try to compete with Beijing, but was still pretty grand in it’s own British way. The storyline was great and the very British sense of humour to the ceremony was right on point, especially with Bond parachuting with the Queen, and Mr Bean’s Chariots of Fire.
It was also superbly well shot and directed, and apart from a few performances (Arctic Monkeys, Paul McCartney…) I thought it was a great way to start the Olympics.
